Meet the Founder

Theresa M. Ward spent more than a decade in financial technology, working across sales, brand management, and product innovation — including being credited as an inventor on a patent for detecting retail fraud. Along the way, she became the go-to person for building and leading training, discovering a natural ability to translate complex ideas into practical, human-centered learning.

In 2017, Theresa fully embraced that superpower and launched Fiery Feather. Since then, she has coached and trained more than 5,100 individuals across nonprofits, tech startups, healthcare, restaurant groups, and beyond — focusing on meta-skills like self-awareness, persuasive communication, and navigating change with confidence.

Her work is grounded in both experience and expertise. Theresa studied Interpersonal and Organizational Communication and is trained in Organizational Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC) and Design Thinking. She brings a systems-level understanding of how people, roles, and relationships actually work together.

Theresa’s recent TEDx Talk on embracing mistakes as a catalyst for growth — a message that reflects both her philosophy and lived experience — was selected as a 2026 Editor’s Pick.
